The Shadhika Foundation, founded by Peter and Juthica Stangl, gave our computer school in Calcutta our first foundation grant in 2002. Shadhika’s mission is to help women and children in India. They continue to support our computer centre and our work in Calcutta – their most recent grant was in 2014.
Mundo Cooperante in 2008 gave us funds to upgrade our school equipment as well as help with operating expenses for the first half of 2008.
100 Friends, founded by Marc Gold, gave us money to buy a new printer in 2002 and seed money to start our library in 2003. Since then he helps us out each year with funds that we use for individual student needs. Every year Marc travels and using money donated by his vast network of friends he helps individuals and small organizations.
Hernan Zin, an acclaimed journalist and writer, filmed Uddami for Spanish television in 2002 and again in 2003. Hernan funded Uddami in 2003 and 2005 thorough the nonprofit organization that he founded, Accion Por La Infancia.
Jean Clement along with La Table de Cana, Gennevilliers, France gave us a generous three-year grant starting in 2004. La Table de Cana is a catering company that the French call entreprise d’insertion, a business that helps the long-time unemployed get “inserted” back into the labor market.
Uddami started out in 1999 using the Happy Computers curriculum, based in the UK. Using this curriculum as a guide we developed our own Uddami curriculum. We would like to thank them for their help and guidance.

First California Press (through the generosity of Pat Donahue) gave us seed money to start the project in 2000. Without their help Uddami wouldn’t exist.
