Rabia Khatoon, our assistant teacher, is studying for her Class 12 exams which she will take in May. We all hope that she will pass although she insists that these are difficult ones. Please keep her in your thoughts and good luck Rabia!

We have a new addition to the Uddami team - Shrabasti Chakraborty went to college with two of our former teachers and we are happy to have her on the team. Shrabasti has been so quick to fit in at Uddami that we are giving her a contract after just one month of training.

For the first time in Uddami's history half or our students are women. More and more of our students are coming from referrals which means that our graduates think we have a good thing going here at Uddami. As we are limited to 36 students per session, we have a waiting list which grows longer by the day. When it reaches 50 we might begin thinking about opening another school in a different part of the city.

What's really new is that now the Uddami students who are studying html are updating the site, especially the Student Photo page.

Update on our 501c3 progress

We're not quite there yet. The forms were filed in January and we have been told it may take a month or two longer. We’ve decided to ask for our application to be expedited as we have been operating on our own personal funds since the beginning of the year.

We promise to send out an email just as soon as we have our nonprofit status.

Grants

Once again Hernan Zin and Accion Por La Infancia have generously promised us 3000 euros. In December we were given 3000 euros by Jean Clement through his business La Table de Cana. Shadhika Foundation is reviewing our proposal and we feel confident that they will help us again for the third year in a row. Thank you to all of our donors for giving so consistently – we are able to do so much because of your support!
